We have a huge range of tools and gardening equipment available for you to hire that will help you spring clean your garden. We have put together some jobs that will be great to tackle in your garden this Easter.

Cleaning Furniture

If your garden furniture has been left out in the miserable winter weather, it is probably looking a bit worse for wear. There is a couple of options you have to get your furniture ready for summer. Firstly, you could sand it down and restain it. The other option is to pressure wash the dirt off the surfaces. If you choose to use a pressure washer, be careful not to blast the joints of the furniture.

Shaping Hedges

Trimming and shaping hedges is something we all put off, but doing it in the Spring will be far easier than leaving it until it’s grown even more throughout the summer. It is important to keep the blades of a hedge trimmer sharp. If branch tips appear ragged or light in colour, the blades will be blunt.

Before we hire out any hedge trimmers, we make sure that the blades are sharp.

Love Your Lawn

Spring is the perfect time of year to lay a new lawn, whether you are using turf or sewing seeds. It’s also a good time to get the lawnmower out of the garden shed and start to gradually cut it down to the desired height. Grass trimmers make it easy to tidy up edges and awkward areas. It’s important to get the correct mowing head to suit the environment you will be trimming. We can help you with this in store.

Throughout the winter, your lawn can gather moss and thatch. Spring is the ideal time to scarify your lawn to remove this unwanted debris. If your grassed area is small, you can do this by hand with a spring-tined rake but it’s a bit of a workout! You can tackle larger lawns with a motorised scarifier. After you have scarified your lawn, you should gently rake up any loose moss and thatch. View our scarifier here.
